Chelsea were the Premier League’s highest spenders last summer and they certainly didn’t stop there as they continued to break records in January.
The Blues currently sit 10th in the league table and were in need of some reinforcements so Todd Boehly splashed a further £23 million on some of Europe’s most exciting players. A big chunk of that came from Chelsea’s dramatic transfer deadline day acquisition of World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez for a staggering £106.8m.
The next highest-spending team was Southampton (£60.75m), while Arsenal and Liverpool were the only other ‘big six’ clubs to reach double figures in January.
Here is how we have ranked Chelsea’s transfer window signings compared to the rest of the English top flight...

9. Manchester City - 6
IN: Perrone. OUT: Rogers, Delap, Wilson-Esbrand, Kayky, Cancelo, Mbete. Despite their recent form, Man City certainly weren’t expected to add to a very strong team. However, I can see them regretting the departure of Joao Cancelo given his previous importance to their success. 10. AFC Bournemouth - 6.5
IN: Ouattara, Randolph, Semenyo, Vina, Zabarnyi, Traore. OUT: Lowe, Marcondes, Hill, Kilkenny, Pearson - Bournemouth have splashed the cash this transfer window and Ouattara could be a very good signing, however their signings also lack the experience of a Premier League relegation scrap. Only time will tell whether it works out for the Cherries. | Getty Images

11. Tottenham Hotspur - 6.5
IN: Danjuma, Soonsup-Bell, Porro. OUT: Gil, Spence, White, Doherty, Hayton - Tottenham’s transfer window isn’t anything to shout about but Arnaut Danjuma and Pedro Porro add some important squad depth. However, the decision to cancel Matt Doherty’s contract is an unusual one. | Getty Images

12. Arsenal - 7
IN: Trossard, Kiwior, Jorginho. OUT: Norton-Cuffy, Azeez, Clarke, Marquinhos, Rekik, Smith, Butler-Oyedeji, Sambi Lokonga, Foran, Soares - This transfer window was very important for Arsenal and they have done well to improve their chances at the Premier League title with new signings across the pitch. The only way it could have been better is if they were successful in snapping up Moises Caicedo. | Getty Images
