London Winter Wonderland 2021: What dates is it and how to get tickets to Hyde Park Christmas event

Winter Wonderland returns to Hyde Park this month with a whole new array of attractions and events for all the family to enjoy.

Returning for its 15th event, this year’s festival includes ice skating, ice sculpting workshops, a ferris wheel and delightful Christmas markets.

From how to get tickets to the main attractions on offer to the dates, here is everything you need to know about this year’s Winter Wonderland.

When is Winter Wonderland 2021 on?

After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, Winter Wonderland is set to make its return to Hyde Park on November 19 this year and will run until January 3 2022.

The site will be closed on Christmas Day.

How do I get tickets?

This year a new booking system has been put in place to prevent crowding and ease the risk of coronavirus.

Firstly, visitors must choose their date and then pick an entry time slot.

Entry is free during off peak periods and costs £5 or £7.50 for peak hours.

Once visitors are inside Winter Wonderland, they will be able to stay for as long as they like.

If you spend £20 on any attractions, rides or games your entrance ticket will become free if all is booked within the same transaction.

What attractions will be at Winter Wonderland this year?

There is a whole range of festive activities for all the family at this year’s Winter Wonderland.

For ice skating enthusiasts, you can enjoy a skate in the UK’s largest outdoor ice rink, set under a picturesque canopy of twinkly lights and built around Hyde Park’s iconic Victorian bandstand.

Sticking with the ice theme, there’s also ice sculpting workshops, a real ice slide and an ice mountain.

For thrill seekers and dare devils, there are a number of rollercoasters and fairground rides, including the world’s largest transportable rollercoaster, the Munich Looping.

There’s also the XXL, where you can swing to heights of 47 metres, the Eurocoaster and the Wild Maus.

There’s plenty on offer for kids at Santa Land, with kids’ rides, festive eateries and the chance to meet Santa himself.

Zippos Christmas Circus also returns this year, along with Cirque Berserk, who are bringing a brand new show Regenerate.

Food and Drink

After all those rides and activities you’ll want to rest with some food and drink.

Swing by the Bavarian Village for some bratwurst, live music and beer or if you’re looking for more variety head down to the Street Food Village and enjoy some mac & cheese, firewood pizza, truffle fries and other delicious eats.

There are also a number of themed bars to choose from including Bar Ice, where everything including the glasses is made from ice.

If you’re looking for something a little cosier, you can choose from the Fire Pit, the Explorer’s Rest and Thor’s Tipi, which all have open fires.

Last but certainly not least, a trip to Winter Wonderland isn’t complete without a visit to the Christmas Markets.

Here you can sip on a Gluwhein while you enjoy a stroll through 100 charming traditional wooden chalets, selling unique gifts, traditional Christmas decorations and culinary delights.
