According to Birmingham Live reports, the 56-year-old Vetere will keep an eye on the English and international scouting fronts as they look to add strength to their under-21s squad to eventually feed into the first team.

He comes in with wild experience having worked with the likes of Real Madrid and Aston vIlla in the past - and also helped discover the likes of Darren Bent, who went on to enjoy a brilliant career in the Premier League.

Vetere has also worked with the likes of Harry Redknapp and has been strongly backed by Fabio Paratici, the Italian sporting director who has been nothing short of brilliant since he arrived in north London.

Spurs have brought in players like Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison among others who have lifted the competitive edge of the team and added quality.

They sit third in the Premier League table, just one point behind league leaders Arsenal heading into the international break and will take on the Gunners on October 1 in the North London derby.

Before going on international break the Lillywhites beat Leicester 6-2 to respond to their 2-0 defeat to Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League.
