Defender was on radar

Tottenham were reportedly interested in signing defender Perr Schuurs from Ajax over the summer.

He ended up switching to Serie A to join Torino.

However, as per a report by TuttoSport, Spurs ‘moved’ to land him but the deal didn’t happen in the end. Liverpool, and PSG have all been mentioned as two other interested parties.

Full-back praises boss

Matt Doherty has heaped praise on his boss Conte.

The Italian guided the club into the Champions League last term and has been a hit since his move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Doherty has said, as per Football London:

“He’s changed the whole mentality of the whole club. He’s made us feel like winners. We know he’s obviously won a lot in the past and we’re kind of trying to do it.

“We have meetings, we have talks where afterwards you feel motivated. I remember when he first came in, we had a meeting and afterwards, you were ready to run through a wall for him.”

The Daily Mail reported that they wanted to sign the Championship youngster.
