Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are both trying to tie up transfer deals before the deadline this evening. The London pair are rushing to get documents signed in time.

The Blues have now reached an agreement with Benfica for midfielder Enzo Fernandez. They will pay a bumper £105.6million for his signature which would make him the most expensive player in Premier League history to date.

Spurs, on the other hand, are bringing in right wing-back Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon. He has agreed a deal until 2028, as per Fabrizio Romano. The former Manchester City player has been linked with Antonio Conte’s side for a while now and they will be desperate to get it done.

It is not the end of the world if these deals aren’t announced by the cut-off point. This is because the two sides can submit deal sheets.

What are deal sheets?

Deal sheets are forms that allow clubs to complete transfers after the deadline. This is useful when teams are being pushed for time.

As long as Chelsea and Spurs have been submitted theirs before 11pm, they can land Fernandez and Porro later this evening or even in the early hours of tomorrow. However, if they fail to get one sorted in time then they would see their pursuits fall through.

It has been a hectic window, especially at Stamford Bridge, and it is going down to the wire as clubs across the top flight rush to get their signings done in time.
