Tottenham have landed their man, Pedro Porro, who is in north London for his medical before his official unveiling on transfer deadline day.

Porro who is comfortable at playing as a right-back and right wing-back has been the number one transfer target for Antonio Conte and Spurs fans will be delighted that the club has been able to pull this off.

There had been doubts over the deal with Spurs dragging their feet on administration fees, the development had Manchester City, who had a buy clause on him keeping an eye on the situation but all that has now been dashed with Spurs paying the fee and flying their man over for medical in north London.

The Spain international is regarded as one of the rising stars in European football and, aged just 23, he has the world at his feet. The Premier League be a step up in his development as it is a higher standard than the Portuguese league heis used to.

Porro has three goals and 11 assists in his last 25 games for Portuguese side Sporting and he is likely to be on the team for the Premier League game against Manchester City.

The full-back’s arrival again has highlighted the Tottenham board’s ambition to back their manager after already securing the signature of Arnaut Danjuma from Villareal on loan until the end of the season.

He arrives just in times for season-defining games in the league against champions Manchester City and the Champions League tie against Italian side AC Milan.
