Joey Essex, 32, from Southwark, is mostly known for appearing on reality television series The Only Way is Essex.
He has had rumours spiralling since October when he joined the show as to whether or not he is in a relationship with his skating partner Vanessa Bauer, 26.
On Sunday night, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield once again pressed the reality star on his relationship status to try and get more information about the budding romance.
Phillip Schofield, 60, asked Joey Essex if the romance rumours with the german skater were true after he had previously said he’d “fallen in love” on the show.
The reality star then clarified that he had meant he had “fallen in love with ice skating” but this still made the hosts giggle.
Fans were quick to take to social media to complain that the couple had been pushed yet again to reveal their relationship.
One fan took to Twitter to say: “The Joey and Vanessa thing is a bit childish. each to their own but holly and phil + others encouraging it is cringe”.
Another Twitter user said: “I wish Phil stopped digging to get Joey to announce about his relationship with Vanessa. If they don’t want to talk about it, leave it at that you wet wipe.”
A third social media user shared their thoughts, saying: “Phil still trying to squeeze a story out of Joey and Vanessa’s relationship is so annoying. Just let them skate, their personal life has nothing to do with it and is nobody else’s business.”
Joey and Vanessa have been forced to continuously dodge questions on their relationship since the reality star previously hinted towards their relationship.
Last week the couple faced a grilling from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as to whether they were together following an intense routine as Danny and Sandy in Grease.
Holly Willoughby started pressing the couple saying: “You were like a real life Sandy and Danny” out there. Have you got something you want to tell us, you two?”
Joey then told the hosts: “Danny and Sandy are getting on pretty well” as he looked at his skating partner Vanessa before adding: “If you know what I mean?” before winking at the audience.
Holly then asked: “I mean, is it going steady, as they’d say in Grease?”
Joey then confirmed: “Of course yeah, always steady.” whilst Vanessa looked uncomfortable by the questioning.
Phillip Schofield pushed the couple further by asking: “Are you confirming this?”
The reality star responded with: “I’m not confirming anything” as the pair laughed with each other.
Vanessa Bauer has previously denied rumours of the couple entering a relationship, when she told The Sun: “We are just skating partners.”
When pushed further about the relationship, Vanessa added: “No, no, we are just skating partners.”
