Historic arts centre Somerset House, in central London, has been transformed into a glittering ice rink in the heart of the capital.

Niamh Caines, events producer, said: “I think there’s just something really magical about ice skating at Somerset House.
“You come out of the busy West End and you’re just held within this magical space inside the courtyard.
“It’s all quiet and you’re in a little winter wonderland with all the food and drink offers.”

Described as “one of the absolute highlights of winter in London” by Time Out, the skate season is sponsored by drinks company Moët & Chandon.
This year the ice rink is even bigger, complete with a glorious 40ft Christmas tree.
