West Ham reportedly remain interested in signing Spezia defender Jakub Kiwior. The Hammers were linked with a swoop for the Poland international in the past summer transfer window.

Kiwior, 22, ended up staying put beyond the transfer deadline. However, according to a report by Italian news outlet CalcioMercato, David Moyes’ side are still keen on luring him to the London Stadium ahead of January.

However, other clubs are in the frame too though and they are likely to face competition for his signature. The likes of AC Milan, Barcelona, Roma and Juventus have all been mentioned as potential suitors.

West Ham winter target?

West Ham could see Kiwior as an ideal addition to their defensive department in the next transfer window. He is a decent age, will develop in the future and could be a perfect long-term replacement for Craig Dawson.

Dawson is out of contract at the end of this season and is due to become a free agent next June as things stand. The experienced centre-back is yet to pen a new deal and his future is up in the air at the moment.

Kiwior has already racked up 122 appearances in his career to date and has been a key player for Serie A outfit Spezia since joining them in 2021. Prior to his move there, he played for GKS Tchy, Anderlecht and Zilina.

His deal expires in 2025 but his current side could face a battle to keep hold of him this winter. West Ham are being mentioned but so are other European teams.
