It doesn’t feel that long ago since West Ham United travelled to Belgium to face RSC Anderlecht in the UEFA Europa Conference League; their second group game match is set to take place this week.

West Ham, in their away game against the Belgium side, returned to London with all three points - a single goal from Gianluca Scamacca proving to be the match winner and leading to West Ham United topping Group B of the competition.

You would be right in thinking though how close UEFA’s European competition have become in an already congested fixture list for Premier League sides vying for the titles of European football’s finest.

The quick round of UEFA Europa Conference League group games will lead into a second round of group stages, all of which are set to be completed ahead of the scheduled FIFA World Cup 2022, taking place in Qatar later this year.

So it’s not a case of deja vu - the return game is happening a week after their last encounter.

When is West Ham v Anderlecht taking place?

West Ham will play at home against Anderlecht this week, with the game taking place at the London Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Wednesday October 12 at 8pm.
