West Ham are being linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli. The Italy international is currently on loan at the Allianz Stadium from fellow Serie A club Sassuolo.

He is a former teammate of Hammers striker Gianluca Scamacca and the pair played together at the Mapei Stadium. Locatelli, 24, has now reportedly emerged on the radar of David Moyes’ side ahead of the January transfer window in few months time.

According to a report by Italian news outlet ilBlancoNero, West Ham have joined the race for his signature. The player is facing an uncertain long-term future at Juve at this moment in time.

Potential West Ham addition?

The Hammers were busy over the past summer bolstering their ranks and could now see Locatelli as someone to bolster their options in the middle of the park. At the age of 24, he has the potential to get even better in the future and has already proven himself on the big stage.

He helped Italy win the last Euros and his performances under Roberto Mancini in the summer of 2021 earned his switch to Juventus. The former AC Milan man has since made 52 appearances in all competitions for the Turin-based club and has chipped in with three goals and five assists to date.

West Ham beat Fulham 3-1 yesterday and that result has seen them rise to 13th in the table. Next up for them is a European clash against Anderlecht at home on Thursday.
