The game was a good opportunity for players to get game time under their belts.

Next up for the Hammers is a trip to Ibrox on Tuesday to face Rangers.

‘Massive club’...

Winger Jarrod Bowen is excited for the match against the Glasgow giants and has said, as per West Ham’s official club website:

“We’ve got Rangers next and I’d have preferred it to have been the Europa League final!

“But to go an historic stadium against a massive club – it’ll probably be full as well – will be a good game to play in and a good atmosphere too.”

Big season ahead

It has been a busy summer for Bowen after his England call-up and he will be looking to push on again next term.

His side swooped to sign him from Hull City back in 2020 and he has adapted well to life at the London Stadium.

The attacker fired 18 goals in all competitons last term, 12 of which came in the league, and will be eager to replicate that type of form in the next campaign.

Prior to his move to West Ham, he scored 54 goals in 131 games for the Tigers.

The game against Rangers is another chance for Moyes to test his players against solid opposition ahead of the start of the 2022/23 season.

First up for the Hammers is a tricky home clash against champions Manchester City.

They have played three friendlies now against Servette, Boreham Wood and Reading. In addition to Rangers, they have games versus Luton Town and Lens coming up too.
