Talks between the two parties are expected to continue ‘talks’ over the coming days.

West Ham target

Scamacca has been with Sassuolo since 2017 but has spent the majority of his time with the Serie A club out on loan.

He joined them from PSV and has since been shipped out on loan to Cremonese, PEC Zwolle, Ascoli and Genoa to gain experience.

The forward returned to his parent club last summer with a spring in his step and ended up firing 16 goals in all competitions.

That goal return has seen him emerge on the radar of West Ham and they are now trying to bring him to England.

Other news

West Ham have sold defender Aji Alese to Sunderland.

The youngster has been given the green light to leave the London Stadium on a permanent basis and has dropped into the Championship.

He has penned a three-year deal at the Stadium of Light, with an option for a further year.

The academy graduate had loan spells away at Accrington Stanley and Cambridge United over recent seasons.
