'There won't be' - Pundit makes West Ham transfer prediction and points to PSR rules
West Ham have a big summer ahead of them as Graham Potter looks to mould his squad to what he wants ahead of next season. The Hammers have picked up a little form of late, winning back-to-back games, defeating Arsenal and Leicester City during the last week.
But they had a slow start under Potter, and they remained marooned in the bottom half, likely only playing for the chance to move up a few spots between now and the end of the season.

Hide AdIt’s not the kind of end to the season that thrills fans, but Potter will see it as a vital period as he looks to implement his ideas and make sure that, by the time next season starts, his side are ready to perform how he wants them to.
New signings this season could be key to that, but West Ham did spend significantly last season, spending more than £100million on the likes of Luis Guilherme, Max Kilman, Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The issue with that level of investment is that it is not sustainable for a club like the Hammers unless they are regularly qualifying for Europe, and that’s not something they will achieve this season. Commentator Ian Darke has highlighted that in his Irons transfer prediction, telling West Ham Zone: “I think this season’s in danger of just dribbling away into nothing, so it’s a case now of giving the fans something to cheer and get excited about for what remains of this season.
“Maybe they can climb the table a few places. They spent huge amounts last summer and it hasn’t happened – they made the wrong appointment in Lopetegui and Potter came in too late to save their season. It will be interesting to see what they can do but I would expect with financial regulations being what they are, there won’t be a huge splurge again – more just Potter trying to mould what he’s got.”

Hide AdPotter will surely get some money to spend this summer, though it’s unclear how much the Hammers can offer him while staying within the lines as far as Profit and Sustainability rules are concerned. Although, the club will have had those conversations with Potter when he took the job, so there shouldn’t be too many surprises.
