Early Tottenham team news ahead of Crystal Palace as Ange Postecoglou rules out £60m star

Tottenham have suffered a double injury blow ahead of their game against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Tottenham striker Richarlsion has been ruled out for three to four weeks after injuring his knee last weekend. Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed the £60million signing from Everton in 2022 is 'disappointed' with the news.

The 26-year-old has scored 10 goals for the Lilywhites this season and has been leading the line for the north London club especially when club captain Son Hueng-min was away for the Asian Cup. Richarlison now joins Ryan Sessegnon as the two Spurs who have suffered injury setbacks this week.

Postecoglou confirmed the double blow ahead of the game against Crystal Palace later today: "Yeah, with Richy, disappointed because he has obviously been a key contributor for us but it's how our season's gone. We get one back, we lose one. We'll just have to compensate for him being out. With Sess (Sessegnon) it is a tough one.

"Through no fault of his own he's worked hard to try to come back and it's always more challenging when it happens as a series of events and he hasn't really had any reward in terms of the hard work he's put in for his rehab to really get out there and play and do what he loves. And just show people his ability.

"It's a tough one for him but he'll get all the support he needs. He's had his surgery now and he's still a positive guy. He's obviously been through this before so hopefully that helps him come back strong and get out there and play.

Tottenham have struggled with injuries in recent weeks with Postecoglou still without Pedro Porro but defender Destiny Udogie could return to boost the team.
