Everton are on the lookout for a new manager, and a number of managers with London links are being tipped for the job.

Frank Lampard lasted less than a year as Toffees boss despite leading them to safety last season. Everton are currently just goal difference off the bottom of the table and firmly in the relegation zone, leading the club bosses to make a decision on Lampard’s future. The Merseyside are in crisis currently, with fans outraged with the board.

Everton are going to need to make a relatively swift decision to avoid losing more ground, and they need to get this decision right with Championship football looming should things continue to go south on the pitch. As ever when a Premier League club sacks its manager, names are already flying around, and while the Toffees may not have a firm list of candidates, bookmakers already have their own ideas.

Marcelo Bielsa is the early favourite, while Brentford boss Thomas Frank is among the frontrunners at 16/1 with SkyBet. Under-fire West Ham boss David Moyes is also up there, at 20/1, having previously managed the club. Former Chelsea boss Mauruzio Sarri is priced at 28/1, with former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino at 25/1.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel is also at 25/1 with Bet365. In terms of overall favourites, beyong Bielsa, Sean Dyche (5/2) and Wayne Rooney (10/1) are among those being favoured with the bookmakers. Duncan Ferguson, Sam Allardyce and Ralph Hasenhuttl are also among the early frontrunners.

Brentford will be desperate to keep hold of Frank, and they should be confident of doing so, given the Dane recently penned a new long-term contract to keep him at the club until 2027. The Bees have the opportunity to achieve something special this year, and that can’t be said of Everton.
