Updates on Leicester City pair

Spurs are ‘leading’ the race to sign England international James Maddison from Leicester City, according to the Daily Mail. The report adds that target Harvey Barnes may wait until later in the window before deciding his next move, with Arsenal and West Ham also in the frame for his signature. The pair are both expected to leave the Foxes following their relegation to the Championship.

Midfielder linked

According to French news outlet Foot Mercato, the London club are keeping tabs on Lyon midfielder Maxence Caqueret. The 23-year-old has played for his current club for his whole career to date and has made 130 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with four goals. The former France youth international remains under contract at Parc Olympique Lyonnais until June 2027 meaning a transfer fee would be required in order to lure him to England.

Player could leave

Postecoglou is said to be ‘happy’ to let Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg head out the exit door over the next couple of months amid interest from fellow English clubs and Bundesliga teams including Bayern Munich, as detailed in a report by the Daily Mail. He has played for Spurs since joining them from Southampton back in 2020. The Copenhagen-born man has since played 145 games altogether, scoring on 10 occasions, but his long-term future is up in the air at the moment.
