Tottenham and West Ham United 'plotting' transfer move for ex-Chelsea wonderkid

Tottenham and West Ham United both have their sights set on a former Chelsea academy player who now plays in the Serie A for Juventus.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United both have their sights set on former Chelsea youngster Samuel Iling-Junior, who now plays for Juventus, in the upcoming summer transfer window.

This is according to a report from Football Insider, who note that Iling-Junior's contract with the Old Lady is due to expire in the summer of 2025. As such, Juve may be willing to let him go in the upcoming transfer window - lest they run the risk of losing him on a free transfer. He signed for Juventus back in 2020 after he left Chelsea's academy - since then, he has made 29 Serie A appearances, scoring two goals along the way.

Spurs and the Hammers aren't the only clubs who have been linked with a move for Iling-Junior - the England U21s star is also believed to be in the sights of other Premier League outfits such as Everton and Brighton and Hove Albion ahead of the summer window.

What would Samuel Iling-Junior bring to Tottenham or West Ham?

A technically-gifted, skilful striker, Iling-Junior can open up a back line in an instant. Not only can he use his excellent ball control to evade challenges, his movement off the ball also allows him to find himself in space in the box. Additionally, at 6ft, he is no slouch when it comes to the more physical aspects of the game.

This will be a useful attribute to have if he signs for West Ham - David Moyes likes his strikers to hold up the ball and fashion chances for their teammates, as well as for themselves. Spurs, meanwhile, need a striker - they have yet to replace Harry Kane since he left the club to join Bayern Munich. Iling-Junior still has plenty of developing to do before he reaches Kane's calibre, but he has the potential to reach that level.
