Tottenham make 24-goal sensation their 'top priority' target to replace Harry Kane this summer
Tottenham Hotspur have proven a lot of doubters wrong following the departure of Harry Kane last summer. Many expected the North Londoners to be seriously starved of goals this season but Son Heung-min and Richarlison have been leading the line with 25 Premier League goals between them.
Spurs have 59 goals on their tally so far, just four less than Manchester City and 20 more than Manchester United, who splashed out £72 million on a new striker just last summer. Ange Postecoglou's side are actually just 11 short of their overall league tally from last season, when Kane contributed a whopping 30.

Hide AdWhile Spurs have not been shy on the goalscoring front since Kane's departure, they are naturally looking for a new No.9 to come in and replace the influential goalscorer and club legend. The Lilywhites, who are pushing for a top four finish this season, want someone capable of a consistently high goal return each campaign.
That's why they have been linked with Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez for some time now, who has notched 21 goals and four assists in 25 Eredivisie appearances so far this season. According to Caught Offside, Spurs are hoping to beat the competition for the 22-year-old's signature this summer and have 'already made contact' with him over a move.
Gimenez reportedly became Tottenham's 'number one target' following Kane's £100 million move to Bayern Munich last year. The Mexican striker — who has 24 goals in all competitions this season and is on track to smashing last campaign's tally of 28 — is 'the top priority' for Spurs heading into the summer transfer window.
Last year, following his return of 28 goals and three assists across all competitions, former Feyenoord and Liverpool icon Dirk Kuyt backed Gimenez as 'the best striker in the Eredivisie'.

A report from October claimed that Feyenoord value their star striker at £44 million, despite heavy interest from other clubs including Real Madrid, and the fact his current contract does not expire until 2027.
