Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will just not add to the numbers but will fight for his spot in the team after being named in the 25-man squad for the Premier League season.

The 2018 World Cup winner had stated he was looking for a new challenge but after failing to get his move away- a report in the Daily Mail says he will fight for his spot and give new number 1 Guglielmo Vicario a challenge for the starting spot.

Inter Milan and Nice were interested in Lloris but none of them could assure him a starting slot which meant he was better off staying at Tottenham where he is adored, at least up until January when the transfer window opens.

Australian manager Ange Postecoglou who has been a massive success so far decided to put him back into the team even though it remains unclear if he will be the number two or third choice given the team already has Fraser Forster as backup.

Lloris has also been stripped of the captaincy earlier in the summer by the new head coach, who previously admitted that it looked unlikely Lloris would be included in his squad.

Postecoglou has now made a U-turn to allow Lloris to remain at Spurs, with Fraser Forster also part of the squad.

Tottenham have had a positive start to the season- winning three and drawing one of their first four games of the season and it remains to be seen how far they can go under Ange Postecoglou this campaign.
