Tottenham and Brazil striker Richarlison has admitted he needs ‘Psychological’ to get back to his best after struggling for goals at both club and international level.

Richarlison broke down in tears after he was substituted during Brazil’s 5-1 over Bolivia over the weekend, and he’s got only one league goal since he joined from Everton last summer for £60million.

The former Watford man says he will pay for a professional psychologist to help him work on his mind. He told Globo Esporte: “I’m going to go back to England, seek psychological help, from a psychologist, to work on my mind.

“That’s it, come back stronger. I believe I will be in the next [squad], I will work for that.”

Richarlison has also not scored in four games for his country this year and was on the bench as captain Son Heung-min scored a hat-trick to help his side to an impressive win just before the international break.

He revealed he would ask manager Ange Postecoglou to give him a run in the team to help find his form. He added: “It’s about getting a good streak at Tottenham, this week I’m going to sit down and talk to them, I need a good streak, get the rhythm of the game and get here well.

“That sad moment [against Bolivia] wasn’t even because I played poorly, in my opinion, I didn’t play a bad game in Belem, it was more of an outburst about the things that were happening off the field, which got out of control not on my part, but on the part of people who were close to me.

“I went through a turbulent time in the last five months off the field. Now things are right at home. People who only had an eye on my money walked away from me. Now things will start to flow, I’m sure I’ll get a good run at Tottenham and make things happen again.”

Tottenham have had a strong start to the season with three wins from four games but Richarlison is yet to score.
