Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has been named in the team’s 25 Premier League squad despite stating he would like to leave the club for a new challenge.

The 2018 World Cup winner said earlier in the summer: “I will ask myself quietly to study what will be possible. But I don’t forget that I still have a year of contract with Tottenham and that in football it is always difficult to predict what will happen.

“What is essential at the moment is to recover well from my injury. I’m on vacation but I continue to talk and do my training.”

That call has meant he’s lost his role as the captain of the team with Son Heung-min, James Maddison and Cristian Romero selected as the new leaders for the team. Inter Milan, Napoli and even Chelsea had looked at the Spurs goalkeeper but in the end, he could not agree on a deal and has now had to stay in north London for at least next year.

What is unclear is what will be his role with Fraser Forster the second choice and Guglielmo Vicario now the undisputed number one at the club. Below is the full squad that was submitted to the Premier League ahead of the Wednesday deadline.
