6 Premier League free agents whose quality could help end QPR and Millwall poor form
QPR sit in the bottom three with London rivals Millwall teetering just above the drop zone.
A 2-0 defeat to newly promoted Derby County at the weekend added even more pressure on QPR head coach Marti Cifuentes as the London outfit look to find their footing in the Championship this season.
The R's are now without a win in their last six outings across all competitions and sit in the relegation zone after nine matches this season.
It's not been quite so bad for 18th-placed Millwall but Neil Harris' side have also struggled for consistency. The Lions head coach will point to being beleaguered by injuries, but sitting just two points above the drop zone is evidence that something needs to change.
With both clubs needing an injection of quality, LondonWorld looks at six free agents recently released by Premier League clubs, who could perhaps provide the answer for QPR and Millwall - market values as per Transfermarkt.
Jeff Hendrick, £420,000
The 32-year-old has history with QPR, having spent time on loan at Loftus Road in 2022. Went on to have loan spells at Reading and Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship before being released by Newcastle United this summer.
James Tomkins, £587,000

The 35-year-old secured promotion from the Championship via the play-offs with West Ham in 2012. Left Crystal Palace after eight years this summer and has played in the second tier 51 times.
Paul Dummett, £755,000
Ended a 24-year association with Newcastle United this summer. While Dummett had loan spells at Gateshead and St Mirren, he has never signed permanently for another club. The 33-year-old had 45 Championship appearances to his name, winning the league with the Magpies in 2017.
Cheikhou Kouyate, £840,000
The 34-year-old AFCON winner left Nottingham Forest after two years this summer. The defensive midfielder is still in the market for a new club and has bags of experience thanks to time with West Ham and Crystal Palace, as well as at the City Ground.
Cedric Soares, £1.7m

The former Portugal international left Arsenal at the expiry of his contract this summer and is still to find a new club. Has never tasted Championship action with his time with the Gunners, Southampton and Fulham all coming in the top flight. The full-back is still just 33 years old.
Brandon Williams, £2.1m
The former Manchester United defender has Premier League pedigree and Championship experience. Spent last season on loan at Ipswich Town, but played a bit part in the club's promotion before being released from Old Trafford this summer.
