QPR loan star scores 'ferocious' goal in 'sensational' Dundee and Kilmarnock five-goal thriller

The Frenchman is still contracted to QPR but enjoying his football in Scotland this season.

QPR defender Ziyad Larkeche found himself in the thick of a 'sensational' Scottish Premiership match between Dundee and Kilmarnock at the weekend as the 22-year-old continues to play a prominent part for the Dark Blues on loan this season.

The Frenchman had been deemed surplus to requirements at Loftus Road this season having made 22 appearances in all competitions last term. The R's recruited heavily at the back this summer with Liam Morrison, Hevertton Santos and Harrison Ashby all coming in.

As such, Larkeche was sent on loan to Dundee FC for the season in a deal wrapped up in July. The player is contracted at QPR until 2026 but is enjoying greater playing time north of the border.

QPR star lashes home ‘ferocious’ shot

The defender has started every Scottish Premiership game for Dundee so far this term. The club has one just one of their opening seven outings, drawing three and losing three.

Larkeche scored in a 2-2 draw against St Mirren in August and was once again on target against Kilmarnock at the weekend. The player opened the scoring after just 24 minutes in what the outfit described as a 'ferocious rising shot' from 20 yards out.

Dundee looked certain of the win, leading 3-0 with 86 minutes on the clock, having added the third in the second half despite being reduced to 10 men for a Mo Sylla red card just before half-time. However, Larkeche saw his side capitulate as Kilmarnock plundered goals in the 86th, 88th and 90+4th minute - the club celebrating a 'sensational late comeback' online after full-time.

Dundee now sit eighth in the Scottish Premiership table, level on points with Kilmarnock in ninth after the weekend. Next up for the side are clashes against Motherwell and St Johnstone.

Larkeche ‘really happy’ to secure loan move

Having joined The Dee earlier this year, Larkeche said: “I’m really happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started and we have a big game this weekend. I had lots of discussions with the manager and he described the project at the club and his ambitions and I want to be part of that.

"I am 21 now, I want to play as much as I can and to show what I can do and try to do my best for this club. I am a player who likes to get forward, get assists and I have a lot of energy. I also spoke with Mo Sylla and Amadou Bakayoko and they told me that this is a great club, full of good people and the team is getting stronger.”
