Harris on Millwall injuries

Millwall boss Neil Harris has been speaking about the injury situation at The Den as his side prepare to face West Brom on the road. “We’re hoping that Adam Mayor is going to be the closest,” Harris told the South London Press.

“Whether he’s back for the first week for Derby, Plymouth and Stoke, I’m not sure, but he won’t be far behind that. We had to re-evaluate with Billy and Adam just because of the amount of time they have missed. Neither of them have featured since the end of last season. When we were thinking about having them back after the international break for that three-game week, realistically, it’s unrealistic with the amount of time needed to get them up to speed. Adam will be first and then we’re looking at a spate of lads coming back, with Tom, Josh, Shuan and Billy, they shouldn’t be too far behind, particularly with the few weeks during the international break.”

Warne on QPR

Derby County boss Paul Warne has warned his side over the ‘different threat’ the Hoops possess ahead of this weekend’s clash at Pride Park. "They have a different threat to other teams in the league,” said the Rams boss, as reported by the Derby Telegraph. “They're top on pressing and actions once they lose the ball. So, if they lose it, they're coming after you straight away - we have to be prepared for that.

"If we can break the press, that's how we will try and play, as you do with all teams. They have had, similar to us, some games where they've played really well and were fortunate not to take more points. It's going to be another tough game, and everybody knows about our good home record. So that will increase their intensity possibly coming in."

Farke on free agent calls

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has responded to calls for the club to land a free agent or two as injuries begin to build up at Elland Road. “If I’m really honest, I’m not a big friend of signing players who are out of contract in the beginning of October, because it means, more or less, they are out of team training since May,” he said. “That means they are out of team training since whatever, five months.

“And even if you bring them in, it lasts also a while until they are really ready to go and fully fit and really could play first team football and then, quite often the player who is right now injured for the next few weeks, he’s even back in perhaps and ready to go earlier than the players who are out for since five months. I think quite often it’s a bit like a panic buy or like to pretend to do something anyhow. I think it’s professional to check it, and sometimes, out of coincidence or out of a special situation, there could be someone out who really suits the needs in this moment.”
