Leeds United handed fresh injury concern ahead of Millwall and QPR fixtures as new signing speaks out

Leeds United have a fresh injury worry ahead of their games with Millwall and QPR in early November

Leeds United forward Largie Ramazani has been handed an injury scare after being forced off in Tuesday’s 2-1 Championship victory over Watford at Elland Road. Depending on the severity of the issue, he could be forced to miss the clashes with Millwall and Queens Park Rangers at the start of November.

He is already a doubt for Saturday’s lunchtime clash with Bristol City. Leeds then take on Plymouth Argyle on November 2 before back-to-back games with Millwall and QPR. The Lions host Leeds at the Den on Wednesday, November 6 before QPR head to Elland Road on November 9, in what will be the final weekend of Championship action before the last international break of the calendar year.

“Rolled, twisted his ankle, it was pretty painful. We have to wait for further assessment. I hope for not a bad injury, we deserve a bit of luck,” said Leeds manager Daniel Farke of Ramazani’s injury after the win over Watford.

Ramazani opened the scoring against the Hornets in midweek as his shot was spilled by Daniel Bachmann just three minutes into the game. The goalkeeper clawed the ball away after the error but the damage had already been done as goalline technology confirmed the ball had crossed the line. Ramazani was chopped down on 13 minutes and tried to carry on but was unable to do and was replaced by on-loan Tottenham Hotspur man Manor Solomon.

Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev are ruled out of next month’s games with Millwall and QPR after picking up long-term injuries. Max Wober is another doubt but his injury is not expected to keep him out as long as his Leeds teammates.

Leeds free agent signing hails ‘wonderful’ opportunity

Leeds have added to their midfield ranks ahead of their fixtures with Millwall and QPR with the signing of free agent Josuha Guilavogui, on a deal until the end of the season. With Ampadu and Gruev out, the Whites have turned to the free agent market.

The 34-year-old has been capped seven times by France and played in Ligue 1, La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Champions League. After signing for Leeds, he said: “I have never played in England and I think as a football player this is a really amazing experience and for playing for Leeds, a historic club, this is a wonderful opportunity for me,” Guilavogui explained. I am looking forward to training with the team, to help the team on the pitch, outside the pitch as well and hopefully that we set our goals.

“I had some offers, but nothing that I would say, okay, let’s do it. And when my agent called me and said that Daniel has interest to sign me and watched over me, I said, yeah, let’s go straight, straight to Leeds. Sometimes in life you have some opportunities and you don’t want to miss it. I am really happy to be here. When I spoke with our manager, he knows what I can bring on the pitch and also outside the pitch, because we don’t forget that we have injured players and I am there to help them. And when they will recover, I will also help the young players.

“That is why I was captain, like everywhere where I played, because I am someone that is always thinking about how can I make my teammates better, how can I improve. I am here for helping the team and I really hope that we will go to the Premier League. It is always better to jump in the team when they are winning and I was there for the game against Sheffield United and it was a really amazing performance. They had no chance and we could have scored more than two goals. So, yeah, it is a really good feeling.”
