QPR and Millwall attendances compared with Championship rivals as Neil Harris calls for 'hostility' at The Den

Loftus Road and The Den will host Championship fixtures of huge importance to Millwall and QPR this week.

QPR and Millwall both face huge midweek Championship fixtures this week after shaky starts to the league season - Coventry City visit Loftus Road and Plymouth Argyle travel to The Den.

Both the R's and the Lions were embroiled in a relegation battle last season but had hoped to avoid that turmoil this term with Marti Cifuentes and Neil Harris having a full summer to prepare their sides. However, QPR currently sit rock bottom of the Championship with Millwall in 20th.

Harris' side salvaged a point against Derby County last time out and, speaking after that match, the Lions head coach challenged The Den to be 'intimidating' ahead of the match against Plymouth Argyle on Wednesday.

Harris said: “It’s a huge game on Wednesday, another great opportunity for us playing at the Den.

“It’s absolutely vital for us as a Millwall team to make this place as hostile and be as aggressive as we can and be as intimidating for the opponent to come to. Largely our performances here have been really good. Even today we were clearly the better team in the game, but we have to make sure we get the points return that matches that."

Cifuentes will be hoping for a similar atmosphere in West London. His QPR side are yet to win at home in the league this season and suffered a crushing 2-1 defeat at the hands of fellow strugglers Portsmouth in front of a home crowd last time out.

LondonWorld looks at how the QPR and Millwall attendances compare with other sides at the bottom of the league, including Portsmouth and Coventry City, as well as the rest of the division.
