It has since emerged via BBC Sport that while the EFL takes a week’s pause for the international break, ex-Fulham defender Christie and utility player Reach have joined QPR and Millwall’s Championship rivals in training following their releases from Hull City and West Bromwich Albion respectively.
32-year-old Christie parted ways with the Tigers at the end of last season, having played 28 times for the club. His arrival at Hull followed a stint with Swansea, while Russell Martin was in charge, and he contributed three goals in 23 games during the second half of the 2021/22 after signing with the Swans on loan from Fulham.

The Republic of Ireland international is primarily known for playing on the right, but has experience on the left and as a centre-back and could well prove to be a useful addition to the Swans through his defensive versatility.
As for the former Middlesbrough star Reach, the winger - who has also been used in midfield and as a left-back - has 470 EFL appearances following stints at the Riverside club, Shrewsbury Town, Bradford City, Preston North End and Sheffield Wednesday. The 31-year-old played over 200 games for the Owls before moving to West Brom in 2021, for whom he made 78 appearances.
Either Christie or Reach’s arrival at the Swansea.com Stadium would mark quite the shift in Williams’ squad after the Swans head coach spent the majority summer transfer window looking for younger players with potential resale value in the overseas markets.
