Fulham are reportedly keeping tabs on SC Heerenveen defender Milan van Ewijk. The Cottagers are being linked with a new right-back this winter as they look to sign someone in that position.

According to a report by Leeuwarder Courant, scouts from the Premier League side watched him in action this weekend. His side ended up losing 2-0 to AZ Alkmaar.

Fulham are after a new full-back and names such as Arsenal’s Cedric Soares, Roma’s Karsdop, Norwich City’s Max Aarons, Millwall’s Dan McNamara and Luton Town’s James Bree have cropped over the past couple of weeks. However, Van Ewijk, who is 22-years-old, could now be seen as an alternative option.

He has been with Heerenveen since 2021 and has established himself as a key player in their side. He has made 56 appearances in all competitions and has chipped in with four goals and two assists. Prior to his move to the Abe Lenstra Stadion, the Dutchman previously played for Feyenoord, Excelsior Maassluis, ADO Den Haag and SC Cambuur.

Van Ewijk is under contract until the summer of 2025 so his club are under no pressure to sell him this month. However, they could face a battle amid reported interest from the Cottagers.

Elsewhere, Fulham are poised to offer Marco Silva a new long-term contract, as per 90min. The Portuguese boss has worked wonders since joining at the start of the last campaign.
