Crystal Palace have not had the start to the season that they expected after Oliver Glasner’s strong impact last year. The Eagles finished the last campaign in such good form that expectations this year were high. Coming out of the second international break, Palace are still winless this season drawing three games and losing four which has put Glasner under pressure. The club won’t want to be drawn into a relegation battle so have to improve soon.
According to CaughtOffside, Palace are considering lining up David Moyes as a replacement for Glasner should their poor form continue. Moyes has been without a job since he left West Ham United last season following two spells totalling six seasons at the London Stadium. Moyes has a track record of being able to avoid relegation which will be the instant first priority of Crystal Palace considering their start to the season. Oliver Glasner is not expected to face the sack yet but could do so if his side’s form doesn’t improve soon.

David Moyes could bring stability and safety to Crystal Palace
Moyes’ reputation as a manager isn’t one of major trophies or huge historic achievements, but more one of stability and security which Palace could want should they find themselves in a relegation battle.
Moyes’ greatest achievement as a manager arguably came in the 2022/23 season with West Ham United as he led the club to their first European title in the form of the Europa Conference League. Since losing Michael Olise over the summer, Palace have struggled to play the open, free and attacking football that they were able to during the back end of last season. It could also be tricky for either Glasner or Moyes to hold onto star players Eberechi Eze and Mark Guehi.
Eze has been linked with a move to both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur whereas, Guehi has been pursued by Eddie Howe and Newcastle United who made a strong bid for the defender over the summer transfer window.

Seeing as Palace have had a poor start to the season compared to their expectations, it comes as no surprise to see reports suggesting replacements for Glasner at Selhurst Park seven games into the year.
According to the bookmakers, the Palace boss is the fourth-favourite manager to be sacked first in the Premier League. The favourite remains Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag despite the club keeping their faith in him over the international break.
The two teams beneath Crystal Palace in the league table are Wolves and Southampton whose managers are both backed to leave before Oliver Glasner. Wolves boss Gary O’Neil is the second-favourite behind Ten Hag, whereas Southampton manager Russell Martin is the third-favourite.
