Crystal Palace played out an entertaining 2-2 draw against Ipswich this week, and the first team is expected back in training on Monday to begin preparations for the Premier League game against Nottingham Forest next weekend.
The Eagles' manager has given the players who were not on international duty a couple of days off, but they will all return to Copers Cope Road on Monday for what should be a pivotal week in the club’s season. They face a Forest side that is buoyant after already recording wins both home and away, including a victory at Anfield against Liverpool.

Eze and Wharton Need Form
During this international break, midfielder Adam Wharton was given the whole week off as they look to refresh him after what has been a difficult start to the season. Midfielder Eberechi Eze, who was left out of the England team due to a slow start to the campaign, did play in a friendly but has also generally had time off.
Palace will also be hoping to get striker Jean-Philippe Mateta to sign a new deal at the club as talks continue. The French striker was upset about being withdrawn during the 0-0 draw against Manchester United a couple of weeks ago, and the Daily Mail reported that he wants to double his wages and enter the ranks of the club's top earners.
Palace also invested heavily in Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal this summer. Even though he’s still waiting to make a significant impact in South London, he has played most of his games either wide or deep.

Sources say he is desperate to get the team back to where they were before the end of last season.
