Man Utd hatch £62m transfer plan in potential blow to Newcastle United and Crystal Palace
Manchester United are keen to rival Newcastle United and Liverpool for the transfer of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi over upcoming windows, even after the London outfit successfully fended off a flurry of interest this summer.

Man Utd linked with £63m Crystal Palace bid
That would suggest that any Manchester United offer would have to be upwards of the £60 million mark, but that has not deterred the club. The report claims that Erik ten Hag's side could offer £63 million for Guehi, who has two years left on his contract.
The Red Devils are also linked with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, who would likely be available at a lower price than the £75 million asking fee that Crystal Palace are believed to have put on England international Guehi. Manchester United may hope that a lower price can be agreed as the defender's contract at Selhurst Park gets closer to expiry.

‘Never in doubt’ - Glasner on Guehi transfer saga
Speaking as the transfer window closed this summer, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner said of a potential Guehi exit: “It was never really in doubt. Congratulations to Crystal Palace, to the chairman [Steve Parish], to the owners — that they didn't give in. Especially after the transfer of Joachim Andersen, it was very important that Marc stays.
“Also thank you to Marc. We were always close and talking a lot. All of the rumours didn't influence his performance, his mood, his professionalism.”
