The England winger namechecked Arsenal and Crystal Palace teammates in the light-hearted interview during the international break.

Manchester City star Jack Grealish has jokingly assigned babysitting responsibilities to his England teammates having welcomed his first child last month, but Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka might not be left alone with the new arrival.

Grealish and his long-term partner Sasha Attwood had baby girl Mia on September 27, just hours before the player faced Newcastle United in the Premier League. The 29-year-old missed out on Euro 2024 action this summer under Gareth Southgate but has returned to the squad under interim boss Lee Carsley.

Ahead of upcoming Nations League clashes with Greece and Finland, Grealish spoke to BBC 5 Live Sport and was quizzed about which of his England teammates he might reach out for when it comes to advice and help with having a child.

‘The worst’ - Grealish jibes at Arsenal pal

When asked to pick a first-choice babysitter, Grealish said: "Harry Kane I think. It's quite a young team so I wouldn't put it on any of the young lads and you know Harry, he's so reliable. One of the oldest lads, so yeah I'd go Harry.

"Well yeah, you could say Phil actually. He's got a fair few hasn't he? Yeah, I'm going to go Harry Kane."

When asked to name the England teammate who wouldn't be getting the babysitting call, Grealish picked Arsenal starboy Saka. He said: "The worst... I'm going to go [Bukayo] Saka. Yeah I'm going to go Bukayo. I just reckon he would be sloppy, you know, falling asleep and that."

Crystal Palace defender named ‘strict dad’

There were also shoutouts for Gunners man Declan Rice and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, both of whom would be on Grealish's speed dial for parenting advice. Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi was also assigned a role in the bringing up of Grealish junior, as 'strict dad'.

The Man City man said: "I reckon someone like Marc Guehi. Just quite firm, you know, serious. Uncle Marc."

Grealish and Attwood may have become parents for the first time but the couple started their relationship over a decade ago, having met at a Solihull secondary school. It is believed that the couple have been dating since the age of 15. In 2022, The Sun reports that the couple splurged on a £5.6 million seven-bed mansion, boasting 24 acres.
