Oliver Glasner is still waiting for his first league win of the season and has stayed behind to work throughout the break.

Crystal Palace and Ipswich played out an entertaining 2-2 friendly game behind closed doors on Wednesday, LondonWorld can exclusively report. Most of the players not on international duty for the Eagles were involved, including striker Eddie Nketiah.

Eagles boss Oliver Glasner is determined to turn things around and is staying behind at Copers Cope Road to work with the players and find solutions to what has been behind their surprisingly slow start to the season.

Defeats to West Ham and Everton mean that draws against Manchester United and Chelsea count for nothing, with the pressure mounting. LondonWorld sources at the club say the Eagles manager went strong, with several first-team players involved in the friendly game.

However, there were no appearances from Adam Wharton and Chris Richards. Wharton would likely be glad for the time off, having seen a slow start to the season attributed to fatigue from playing a lot of games. Richards is still injured, but the likes of Joel Ward were involved, with the Eagles manager tweaking things and treating this as a crucial game to find solutions to what has been an underwhelming start.

Sources said Palace tried different playing styles, switching from a 4-3-3 system to a 4-1-4-1 formation, as the manager sought solutions.

Ipswich have impressed generally and would be delighted to leave London after the friendly game, having held their own against a side that has been in the Premier League for a while.

After this international break, there will be little to no excuses for Glasner, who faces the task of securing wins against a tough-to-beat Nottingham Forest side, a hot-and-cold Tottenham, and Aston Villa, who are competing in the Champions League.

Last season, they recovered from a similar slow start, but when Austrian manager Glasner replaced Roy Hodgson, they rallied to finish 10th, equaling their best-ever finish in a Premier League season.
