Crystal Palace have reportedly been rebuffed in their attempts to lure Conor Gallagher back to Selhurst Park from Chelsea in this transfer window. The midfielder was a hit on loan with Patrick Viera’s side in the last campaign and they were keen to re-sign him.

However, as detailed in a report by the Evening Standard, the Eagles’ efforts have been ‘rejected’ by the Blues. They will now have to look elsewhere for reinforcements between now and the end of the transfer window.

Crystal Palace have had a quiet month so far and have been patient as they search for potential reinforcements, much like they were over the summer. They have put in two battling performances in their past couple of outings against Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Gallagher, 22, impressed with the South London outfit last term and scored eight goals in 39 games in all competitions. He has also had spells in the past at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City and West Brom to gain experience.

Since returning to Chelsea last summer, he has since forced his way into their first-team set-up for the first-team in his career and has made 25 appearances already this season, chipping in with a single goal.

In other news, David Ozoh has spoken after making his Premier League debut. He has told Crystal Palace’s website: “It means a lot. You put in all the hard work for this moment. It’s a dream come true. I can’t believe it – it’s honestly the best feeling ever.”
