Nathan Baxter has returned to Chelsea from his loan spell at Hull City. The goalkeeper has been struggling with injury this season and has now gone back to Stamford Bridge.

As detailed in a report by Hull Live, his deal at the MKM Stadium has been ‘terminated’ and he has returned to his parent club for rehab after having elbow surgery. The Tigers are poised to sign Newcastle United stopper Karl Darlow as a replacement.

Chelsea gave Baxter, 24, the green light to join Hull again last summer after he impressed with the Yorkshire outfit in the last campaign. However, he has only managed to make 12 appearances this season.

The Westminster-born man has been on the books of the Blues since the age of eight but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Premier League giants. Instead, he has gained plenty of experience out on loan with the likes of Solihull Moors, Woking, Yeovil Town, Ross County and Accrington Stanley.

In other Chelsea news, winger Hakeem Ziyech is believed to be attracting some fresh interest from elsewhere. According to a report by the Daily Mail, fellow top flight outfit Everton are keen along with Italian outfit Roma.
