Chelsea were denied all three points by a looping Casemiro last-gasp header after midfielder Jorginho had given them the lead late in the game, Manchester United pressed and deservedly got the equaliser deep into extra-time.

Erik Ten Hag’s team that dominated the early exchanges but Graham Potter rescued the game after he reverted to a back four instead of a back five. The Blues are still undefeated under Graham Potter since he took over from Thomas Tuchel and they were seconds away from recording an mighty results against a direct rival.Kepa Spainish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga kept Chelsea in the game in the first half and will feel unlucky that his finger tip save to Casemiro’s header was not enough to give his side all three points.

Asked about the performance of his team Graham Potter said they could certainly have played better even though his goalkeeper was brilliant once again.

He told BBC 5live: “We certainly could have played better but the result is a fair reflection of the game, Kepa was brilliant and he helped us a lot.”

There will be disappointments in the Chelsea dressing room after failing to see the game through having taken the lead- but they should be consoled by the fact that they are still without defeat under their new manager and the loner that goes the better for them.
