Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message to his team as they prepare to take on Chelsea in the Premier League.  The five-time Champions League winner will be watching from home after being punished by his manager after refusing to come on and leaving before the final whistle against Tottenham.

The Portuguese has faced several backlash since the incident and his manager Erik ten Hag decided that for his trouble- he would not be part of the trip to London even though he is likely to return against Sheriff in the Europa League next week.  Ronaldo was also fined two weeks wages in the region of £1 million.

The 37-year-old trained with the under-21 team as the first team players prepared for a crucial game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and with barely two hours to the game, Ronaldo posted an encouraging match message to his teammates.

Cristiano Ronaldo posted on his instagram page: “Let’s go @manchesterunited.” Even though he would have wished to be part of the team that will be put out on the pitch today, his manager Erik ten Hag said everyone including the global football super star must be responsible for their actions and the standards must be be upheld.

According to multiple reports, Manchester United will likely allow Ronaldo to leave in January after the player publicly declared that he wanted out in the summer.

The game against Chelsea will test the progress under Ten Hag with the Red Devils looking increasing positive in game against Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool.
