Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel says they will not be thinking about the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool when they face French Champions Lille in the Champions League tonight.

The Blues will hope to get most of the job done tonight to ease the pressure of the second leg to be played in France in a fortnight’s time.

Lille have had a dip in form since they shocked the whole of France and beat mighty PSG to win the Ligue 1 title last season.

Since then they have lost key players and their manager has moved on, making their game against Chelsea almost one sided and tilted heavily towards the European Champions.

Despite the odds being in their favour and the Blues riding high on confidence, Thomas Tuchel says it will be a mistake to consider the game a foregone conclusion and will prepare the team in the best possible way to enhance their chances of winning comprehensively tonight.

The Champions League winning manager said: “We all know how very physical French football is and players are very brave in one-on-one situations.

“They are also very disciplined on the ball, they have the chance to play this game as under-dogs and normally that is very dangerous when a team is in that situation.

“We respect the game and our opponents and we will prepare for this game as we always do and try to find the best possible performances which we usually do in knockout competitions.”

Chelsea have done well to come through the winter period still in with a chance to win their third trophy of the season and still alive in the Champions League and FA Cup.

They had key players missing at very important stages of the season but have had to re-adjust and are now hoping to have some of them back.

Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Callum Hudson-Odoi might miss this one but Tuchel is hoping to have Mason Mount who missed the game against Crystal Palace and captain César Azpilicueta back for this one.

Possible starting eleven for this one: Edouard Mendy, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, César Azpilicueta, Mateo Kovačić, N’Golo Kanté, Marcos Alonso, Hakim Ziyech, Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz.
