It was a quiet window for London’s three biggest clubs, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham going with what they have for the second half of the campaign.
January can often prove a difficult month as far as additions go, with prices often inflated, but it’s certain we will see all three sides strengthen ahead of next season.
Big money may well be spent, but how can all three save themselves a little cash when the transfer window opens against in the summer?
Sergio Aguero, David Silva, David de Gea and Diego Costa are just a handful of wealth of players to move from La Liga to the Premier League and become household names, and elite clubs in England continue to keep a close eye on the Spanish top tier for up and coming new stars.
Here we look at five La Liga players who could be available for affordable fees, including a couple of hidden gems:
1. Memphis Depay - Barcelona
Memphis Depay finds himself on this list after falling out of favour at Barcelona. The Dutch ace may not be a superstar signing, but he could certainly do a job for Arsenal or Tottenham. 2. Lucas Boye - Elche
We saw Arsenal heavily linked with Espanyol’s Raul de Tomas in the winter window, a deal that would have cost them big money.
But how about Elche’s Lucas Boye as a cheaper alternative? He is strong on the ball and good in the air. With the right wingers on either side, he could prove an inspired signing with a release clause of around £20million.

3. Santi Comesana - Rayo Vallecano
The Rayo Vallecano midfielder may not be an obvious signing for any of London’s elite, but as far as defensive midfield bargains go, Arsenal and Tottenham could do much worse. There are defensive midfielders with far greater reputations in La Liga, but as a squad signing who could surprise, Comesana is worth considering, and especially with a release clause believed to be around £8million.

4. Jorge Cuenca - Villarreal
Jorge Cuenca is a defender all three of the London clubs should consider, but any deal would be far from easy. Cuenca is strong in the air, strong on the ball and he has a knack for timing interceptions.
At 22, he is an attractive talent, but his release clause is likely to be north of £30million, and Barcelona do hold a buy-back option.
