Chelsea have been handed a huge blow after defender Thiago Silva limped out of their game against Tottenham just minutes into the first half.

Graham Potter threw his hands in the air after the defender appeared to have twisted his knee following an attempted tackle on Harry Kane who was advancing towards the Chelsea post.

The experienced defender was immediately assessed by the medical team before he tried to run it off without success, Wesley Fofana who is also just working his way back to full fitness from a knee injury replaced him.

The former PSG man is one of the players whose form has been consistent despite all the difficulties of results and performances since Graham Potter took over.

Losing him is another blow to the English manager who is in desperate need of three point having bagged just two wins in their last 15 games in all competitions.

However Chelsea are the only team to have won all their three games at the new Tottenham stadium and will hope to find their form with a win against the Lilywhites in the London derby.

Midfielder N’Golo Kante is back in training having missed a large part of the campaign including the World Cup due to a hamstring injury, also back in training is Christian Pulisic who hasn’t played since early January but this game comes too soon for both.

Tottenham are also without Hugo Lloris, Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur and Ryan Sessegnon, they also don’t have manager Antonio Conte who is still back in Italy recovering from a gallbladder operation.
