Brentford-linked Morten Hjulmand is reportedly on the radar of fellow London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham. The midfielder has caught the eye playing in Italy with Lecce and they could face a battle to keep him this summer with a host of clubs said to be keen on snapping him up.

CalcioMercato claim Spurs want him along with European giants Borussia Dortmund and Roma, whilst the same source suggests West Ham are in the frame for his signature along with Brighton and Hove Albion and Atletico Madrid.

Brentford were credited with an interest in the midfielder in a report again by Italian news outlet CalcioMercato earlier this winter. However, despite speculation of an exit from Italy, he stayed put beyond the January transfer window deadline.

Hjulmand, 23, has been with Lecce since joining them in 2021 from Admira Wacker. He helped them gain promotion from Serie B last term and has adapted to the step up to the top flight with ease.

Spurs could see him as someone to bolster their midfield department ahead of the next campaign. Meanwhile, West Ham may have identified him as a potential long-term replacement for key man Declan Rice, who is facing an uncertain long-term future. There appears to be a lot of interest in the player though from across Europe so the race is on to land him.
