Chelsea new owner Todd Boehly has been sold by Jude Bellingham’s brilliant performance for England vs Germany and is hitting the phone lines to bring the Dortmund star to Stamford Bridge.

The former Birmingham City midfielder is a growing star in European football and marked his maturity with an all-round display against Germany where his mentality was a infectious and helped his team come from two goals down to draw 3-3 in the Nations League.

The Dortmund midfielder has a price tag of £130 million and Real Madrid and particularly Liverpool have been keeping a close eye on him- even though they now have fresh competition from Chelsea.

There is general admission that Liverpool will need a new powerful midfielder next summer with captain Jordan Henderson not getting any younger and injuries to Naby Keita has made it quite hard to count on him.

Chelsea lso find themselves in a similar position with N’Golo Kante, one of the best in the world, but not really able to play the same amount of games he did in the past.

Bellingham is only 19, but has shown that he has the world at his feet and will be in the England squad for the World Cup, there is a huge chance that he could even be in the starting eleven in midfield as Kalvin Phillips is injured.

The Chelsea project under Todd Boehly and his consortium has already seen them splash the cash for players like Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella- but challenging the likes of Real Madrid for the next big thing is one that will show remarkable ambition.

Chelsea looking ahead to Crystal Palace

The Blues will return to the Premier League this weekend at Selhurst where they take on Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst.

Both teams have missed two game and are eager to get going again after the international break, the good news for news manager Graham Potter is that N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy have both returned to training this week and are in contention.

A win will be the best preparation for Chelsea ahead of their Champions League game against AC Milan in midweek.
