Photos: Crystal Palace predicted IX vs Chelsea as Eagles count on strong home form to beat favourites

Crystal Palace looking to start the season vs Chelsea after a lengthy lay-off in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace have only lost one home game in  their last nine games as they return to Premier League football for the first time in three weeks.

Postponement due to the passing of the Queen and rail strikes saw Palace have two games rescheduled, but the wait is finally over and Selhurst will see Premier League football again.

The same could be said of Chelsea who last played in the Premier League with Thomas Tuchel as manager and have missed games against Fulham and Liverpool for similar reasons as Palace.

The gap created has allowed both managers, Patrick Vieira and Graham Potter, to work on the team especially the Chelsea boss who has taken over Thomas Tuchel and is tasked with changing the style of play and improve the results straight away.

Chelsea don’t have injury concerns after N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy returned to training after being out with injuries before the international break.

There are concerns for Palace with USA defender Chris Richards picking up a knocks while on international duty.

The lengthy lay off has given James McArthur and Jack Butland enough time to make progress and should be ready for team work even though it’s hard to see him start straight away.

Chelsea are favourites to win but Palace are hard to beat at Selhurst and have lost only one game at home in their last nine games, so this should be quite interesting.

Here is now we expect the Eagles to set up for the game on Saturday.
