Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking about the the club’s transfer window - and about adding to the squad.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says he’s ‘happy’ with the business the club has done this summer transfer window with just three days to the end.

The Blues have sold 11 players so far, and top earner Romelu Luakku is on his way out to AS Roma. The move will free up cash that can be used to bring in another forward to help out Nicolas Jackson.

Chelsea have spent close to £400million and will use the absence of European football to go hard on returning to the top of the Premier League table after finishing 12th last season.

The Argentine manager - who has lost one, won one and drawn one of his first three league games - says he is absolutely delighted with how things have gone in his first few months at the club.

He told reporters ahead of the Carabao Cup tie against Wimbledon: “Yes. Yes, I am happy. I am really happy with the squad we have at the moment. We have some, maybe, that can improve different positions, of course. If not, I am happy with how we are now.”

The Chelsea manager said the game tomorrow night might be too early for new signing Djordje Petrovic after he completed his move last weekend.

Pochettino admitted that the board is still hard at work trying to add more quality to the squad before the deadline at midnight on Friday.

He added: “The club is working very hard to try and finish our business. Something can happen, maybe yes, but nothing to communicate yet.”

Chelsea are not usually involved in this round of the Carabao Cup but the lack of European football means they will now have to beat League side Wimbledon to progress to the next round.
