Chelsea and Tottenham both enjoyed a fine weekend, with both London clubs picking up all three points.
Chelsea made easy work of Luton Town at home to kickstart their season, while Tottenham followed up a huge win over Manchester United with a professional display and 2-0 away win over AFC Bournemouth. Both clubs are back in action this weekend, but the transfer deadline comes before that, on Friday, and both clubs will be working hard to finalise their respective squads.

Here we round up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Chelsea and Spurs.
Cucurella interest
Out of favour Chelsea star Marc Cucurella could be of interest to Manchester United, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Romano wrote on X: “Manchester United made contact with Chelsea to ask about conditions of Marc Cucurella deal on potential loan — no bid or concrete talks yet United looking for LB opportunity but not too expensive — there are three candidates in the list. No decision made yet. “
Cucurella is likely to be behind Ben Chilwell this season, but it would be a bold move from Chelsea to allow the Spaniard to join a direct top four rival, especially having already sold Mason Mount to United.
Johnson interest

Tottenham’s search for a striker appears to have led them to Nottingham Forest frontman Brennan Johnson.
Romano wrote: “Tottenham, prepared to approach Nottingham Forest for Brennan Johnson this week. Ange Postecoglou has already approved this potential move #THFC Not easy deal as Forest already rejected big proposals but interest in Brennan is growing now.”
Johnson has scored 26 times in 91 league appearances for Forest, also netting twice in 20 appearances for Wales. Tottenham are looking to replace Harry Kane, and they could sign more than one striker in their bid to do so.
