Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has taken to life in the Premier League like a Duck takes to water and opened his account against newly promoted side Luton Town.

The former Villarreal forward is doing all the right thing that has got his manager singing his praise after almost every game. Against Luton, he was sensational and prompted calls by his manager to say he has all it takes to be great at the club.

Pochettino said: “It’s really, really important [Jackson scored his first goal] because he is a young player and of course came from a different league.

“To adapt to the Premier League is always difficult but the quality is there. We don’t need to ask him to run or press in the phase where we don’t have the ball because this is his quality.

“The quality is amazing with his feet, to run with the ball and to score goals. It was only a matter of time. There is no doubt that he can be one of the greatest strikers in the Premier League, no doubt.”

The Chelsea boss admitted he needed another profile of striker because he has in mind the injuries of Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja but the start to life means the Blues might not be desperate to bring in another forward.

Pochettino said about the need to bring in a new striker: “We have very talented young keepers but they need time. We need more and then we were talking about one offensive player, the right profile.

“If we can add the right profile, yes, but not to bring players so we can add one more. We don’t want to stop the evolution of some young guys, Broja, and Nkunku. Working hard but not to make a decision because we need someone. In these two areas, we may need some players.”

Jackson scored 13 goals in his last 11 games for Villarreal before making the jump to the Premier League to play for Chelsea.
