As per a report by the Northern Echo, Boro are planning ‘further talks’ with the player over the next couple of days.

Brentford situation

Forss is under contract at the Brentford Community Stadium until the summer of 2026 but finds himself down the pecking order.

He was used as their back-up to Ivan Toney during their promotion season in 2020/21 but saw his game time dry up last term in the Premier League.

As a result, Thomas Frank gave him the green light to head out the exit door on loan in the last January transfer window to get more opportunities.

It was Hull City who won the race for his signature and he spent the second-half of the past campaign with the Tigers under Shota Arveladze.

However, despite playing his part in their survival in the second tier, he struggled for goals in East Yorkshire and found the net only once in 11 games.

A switch to Middlesbrough would provide him with a change of scene and another opportunity to show what he can do, with the North East outfit planning more discussions over a potential deal.

Other Bees news

Brentford striker Ivan Toney has been linked with a departure over the past 24 hours.

The Mirror have reported that fellow top flight clubs Leeds United, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Manchester United are interested.
