Brentford attacker Lachlan Brook has joined Crewe Alexandra on loan.

The Bees have let the youngster head out the exit door on a temporary basis to get some experience under his belt ahead of the new 2022/23 season.

Brook, 21, has joined the Railwaymen on a deal until January as they prepare for life in League Two.

Brentford have announced the move on their official club website.

Good opportunity for Lachlan

This move to Cheshire is a chance for Lachlan to show what he can do in the Football League and boost his development.

He started his career in his native Australia with Adelaide United and played 10 times for the A-League side before moving over to England in 2020.

The Australia U23 international has since linked up with Brentford’s second team and was loaned back out to Adelaide last season.

This move to Crewe now is an opportunity for him to experience senior football in England.

B Team Head Coach Neil MacFarlane has said:

“It’s a brilliant opportunity for Lachlan. He went away and did really well in his loan spell in Australia and he also backed that up with his international performances too.

“He’s now got an opportunity to go and play in the Football League which is really encouraging for us as a B Team having seen a number of players in recent months step out to play at that level in Paris Maghoma on loan, as well as the likes of Ben Hockenhull and Dom Jefferies who recently moved on.”
