Love Island winner Davide Sanclimenti denies rumours that he’s engaged to Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu

Davide Sanclimenti has shut down rumours that he is engaged to Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu after fans flooded his Instagram with assumptions.

The Love Island winner, 27, met girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 28, on series eight of the ITV dating show in 2022. Despite viewers witnessing their tumultuous relationship on screen, they walked away with 63.7% of the final vote and are still going strong, as a couple, today.

Since winning Love Island, Davide and Ekin-Su have been inundated with offers set to allow them to earn well over the six-figure mark. Ekin-Su signed a £1m deal with fashion brand Oh Polly, while Davide unveiled a fashion collection with BoohooMAN and the couple also signed a huge deal with Google to launch an online cooking show.

Following their good fortune, fans have been left desperately waiting for Davide to pop the big question.

After Ekin-Su’s controversial elimination from Dancing on Ice, the couple embarked on a romantic trip to the Maldives. They posted snaps of them dining on the beach and sipping cocktails. This left fans hoping the luxury destination would be the place where they might get engaged.

Davide posted a series of romantic photos with Ekin-Su in front of the sunset on his Instagram.

He captioned it: "They told me that to make her fall in love; I had to make her laugh. But every time she laughs, I’m the one who falls in love."

Fans were quick to jump to conclusions, with one writing:: “I was ready for the 💍 picture at the end 👀”

Another quipped: “Awwwwww Ekin Su and her future baby daddy ❤️”

Davide, however, was quick to correct the hopeful fans and shut down any engagement rumours.

He said: "I’ve only known Ekin-Su for 6 months.”

"Even if we are so close, the reality is that we know each other for only six months so it would be nice to see at least a 2-year relationship before you commit for life.

He stated sensibly that “before getting engaged, I think it would be wise to wait 2 years at least, you know, so you can discover more about the other person."

Despite Davide’s practical approach it would appear Ekin-Su is desperate to put a ring on it.

Last December, engagement rumours circled after Ekin-Su posted a sweet video from her and Davide’s time in Rome.

While having dinner and drinking champagne on the terrace, she unwrapped a stunning Cartier promise ring Davide gifted her.

Fans were quick to jump to conclusions, as one excitedly posted: "Is this an engagement or not?!”

Another echoed this sentiment asking: “ Wait is this a proposal? Tell us everything!”

Davide loves a grand gesture and, it is safe to say, that when Davide does propose, Ekin-Su will make sure everyone knows about it.
